Instructions
Preheat oven to 375℉
Core and chop apple, I like to keep the skin on but it totally your preference. In a bowl, add apple, maple syrup, vanilla extract, salt, lemon juice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix well to combine and coat the apples evenly
3 apples, 2 Tbsp Oats, 1 tsp lemon juice, coarse salt, ½ Tbsp Butter, 1 tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp nutmeg
In a separate bowl, mix all the ingredients except butter for crisp: oats, almond flour, chopped pecans, walnuts, brown sugar and mix well to combine.
1¼ cup oats, ½ cup almond flour, 1 cup chopped pecans, ½ cup chopped walnuts, 2 tbsp sugar
Next crumble butter using both your hands and mix with the oats mixture to form a clunky mixture, don’t overmix at this point
2 tbsp butter at room temperature
In 8 or a 9 inch baking dish, add all the apple mixture to form a base and spread it evenly. Now layer the apples with the oats mixture spread evenly over the apples
Once done; you can optionally top with some chocolate bits if you prefer or leave it as is and pop it in the oven for 30-35 min.
Let the apple crisp cool a down a bit before serving. If you fancy; serve hot with a scoop of Ice-cream!
