In a bowl, combine the chicken, chopped jalapeno, onion, half of the cheese, and all the spices. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed. This mixture will form the base of the patties.
Once the patties are shaped, place them in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Chilling the patties will help them hold their shape better during cooking.
METHOD 1 using Grill Pan on Gas Stove:
Place a grill pan on medium heat; add oil and carefully place the chicken patties on the grill. Allow them to cook for approximately 15-20 minutes on each side.
Once the patties are cooked on both sides, divide the remaining cheese and top each patty with it. Cover and let the cheese melt slightly over the patties.
METHOD 2 using a BBQ Grill:
If you prefer, you can also grill the chicken patties on a barbecue. Follow the same instructions as in Method 1, but cook the patties on a preheated barbecue grill instead of a grill pan.
SERVE:
In a separate bowl, mash the avocados and mix them with lemon juice. This will create a creamy and tangy avocado spread.
Heat the burger buns slightly and spread the avocado mixture on one side of the burger bun.
Place lettuce leaf on top of the avocado spread.
Take a cooked chicken cheese patty and place it on the lettuce. The warm patty with melted cheese will complement the cool avocado and crispy lettuce.
Spread sour cream on the other half of the burger bun and place it on top of the chicken patty to complete the burger.
Serve the Chicken Cheese Patties hot and enjoy the delicious combination of flavors and textures!
