Strawberry Salsa with a kick of JalapeƱo

Summer calls for light & fruity recipes and this strawberry salsa does justice to every such summer occasion. The sweet tarty flavors from strawberries and the spicy kick of JalapeƱos bring out the perfect balance in this recipe.

If you ever thought that strawberries can only be used in sweet desserts than this savory combination will change your mind. I love playing with different flavors and this recipe finds balance in that playfullness. Not only is healthy and delicious; its full of nutrition!

How to make Strawberry Salsa

    1. Start by finely dicing all shallots, JalapeƱo, Strawberries, and Mint leaves.

    1. Let the JalapeƱo and shallots sit in for a minute or two with the lemon juice. This step enhances the flavor.

    1. Add in the cut strawberies and mint along with some sea salt before serving

Recipe Notes for Strawberry Salsa

Fully prepared salsa stays fresh for only a day so I recommend serving immediately. The lemon and the sea salt breaks down the strawberries and makes it soggy!

To store this strawberry salsa longer; you can either cut all ingredients and store them in seperate containers or mix everything together but add the lemon juice and sea salt just before serving. This way the strawberry salsa stores upto 3 days in the refregerator.

How to serve this Strawberry Salsa

The Best part of this recipe is that it is so versatile. It can be served in multiple ways and incorporated with mains, served as a snack and other creative ways you can think of. Some of my favorite ways are:

Serve it as a Binge snack with crackers, salsa chips or crispy pita chips

Serve it on top of warm hummus to give plain ol’ hummus a refreshing sweet twist

Another way that this salsa tastes delcious is with roasted chicken breasts or with grilled salmon. Bake or grill your protein and top with some of this delicious salsa and you will be making this on repeat
