  • 400 gm Chicken diced into cubes
  • 150 gm Mushrooms
  • 2 Onion shallot or a medium-sized onion
  • ½ Bell pepper optional
  • 5-6 hard/soft shell tacos
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 red whole chili
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil or Butter

Yogurt Dip

  • 4 tbsp Yogurt
  • 2 Garlic
  • Salt pinch
  • 1 tbsp Dried dill
  • 1 tbsp Black pepper


  • 1 Avocado
  • Cilantro Chopped
  • Lime Cut into Wedges



  • In a bowl; add diced chicken, minced garlic, salt, pepper, red chili powder. Marinate for 15-30 mins. It’s optional to marinate but it helps break the chicken and makes it tender


  • Place a pan on medium-high heat; add oil or butter, chopped shallots and sauté for 5 mins or till golden brown, add a pinch of water to bring together the shallots if they are sticking to the pan.
  • Add in mushrooms, marinated chicken; cover and cook. Once the chicken is cooked through, add bell pepper if using. Cook for 2 more minutes before turning the gas off


  • While the chicken cooks; prepare the yogurt dip. In a small bowl, cream the yogurt, add in grated garlic, dried dill, lemon juice and a pinch of salt pepper. Mix well and it’s ready to serve!


  • Take hard or soft shell tacos; add chicken & mushroom mixture top with yogurt dip, avocados and chopped cilantro if using. Serve with Lime Wedges!
