How to make Grilled Halloumi Cheese Skewers

So What is Halloumi Cheese? Halloumi Cheese is a semi-hard cheese made with a mixture of goat’s and sheep’s milk. Because of its high melting point, it is perfect for frying and grilling. Marinated properly and grilled with veggies it tastes incredible; it does have a bit of chewy texture when grilled or fried but I love the uniqueness of its texture.

Halloumi cheese originated in Cyprus but is very popular in the Middle East and Greece. It is readily available in stores near you; here in Canada, you can easily find it in Loblaws, Walmart and such stores. Outside Canada, if your local store does not carry it; you will definitely find it in the middle eastern grocery shop.

There are a lot of recipes that use Halloumi cheese; I am sharing with you today Grilled Halloumi Cheese Skewers layered with Potato and Veggies. Halloumi Cheese, Potatoes, Onions and bell peppers marinated in spices and grilled to perfection served on its own or with salad. The use of cajun seasoning in the spice mix gives it a nice and tangy taste. Top it with lemon juice makes these halloumi cheese skewers a perfect appetizer to be enjoyed with friends and family!
